About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering intern for a full-time, 10-12 week summer program in 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on tasks including engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs. This role supports municipal and transportation projects while contributing to infrastructure development.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil design work for project discipline systems following code and company standards.
- Research commercially available equipment.
- Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, and clerical disciplines.
- Document design decisions, client meetings, and instructions while monitoring project progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and issue addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by contract agreements.
- Assist with client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for record files.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD software, and Building Information Modeling.
- Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written formats to individuals or groups.
- Strong interest in design consulting.
- Availability to assist with field duties, such as surveying and materials testing.
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry is preferred.
