About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will support the Plant Engineering and Facilities team. You will spend your summer updating critical facility drawings and organizing compliance documentation. This role provides hands-on experience with AutoCAD, document control, and regulatory audit preparation within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Update shell drawings for core facility buildings using AutoCAD.
- Review and revise building egress plans to match current facility layouts.
- Update underground utility drawings to support future planning and compliance.
- Organize engineering drawings, records, and technical documents for easy retrieval.
- Develop and maintain a structured compliance filing system.
- Compile documentation for fire-suppression systems, fuel-island testing, and pressure-vessel testing.
- Ensure information is accurate and ready for Plant Engineering audits.
- Coordinate with Plant Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance teams to confirm documentation needs.
- Manage additional facility-engineering and document-control projects as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Interest in facility engineering, building systems, infrastructure, and manufacturing operations.
- Coursework or experience using AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and document-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
