About the role#
As a Purchasing Intern, you will support data analysis, supplier documentation, and sourcing initiatives. You will gain exposure to supply chain management while helping the team develop data-driven strategies. Your work will focus on enhancing tools for government-part sourcing, small-business reporting, and operational decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Analyze purchasing data to support part segmentation and sourcing strategy development.
- Collect and organize supplier documentation regarding tariffs, country of origin, and small-business requirements.
- Improve existing analytical tools and dashboards to increase purchasing visibility.
- Assist with government-part sourcing and related reporting tasks.
- Help expedite requests for quotation and support supplier follow-up.
- Identify data trends that improve sourcing decisions.
- Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and supply chain teams on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited bachelor degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, or Engineering.
- An interest in strategic sourcing and data analysis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage your time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and with a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Summer 2027, from June 1 through August 20, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, typically 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- This is a paid internship.
