About the role#
This is a full-time, 12-week internship program running from May 17 to August 6, 2027. You will work under the guidance of project managers and construction managers to support capital projects. The role requires you to uphold company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety while gaining hands-on experience in facility engineering.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned projects and assist project managers with daily operations.
- Prepare pre-remodel checklists and as-built fixture or refrigeration drawings.
- Support the contractor bid process and attend weekly job meetings.
- Manage equipment orders, track deliveries, and coordinate store fixture installations.
- Assist with project closeout tasks, including punch lists and final invoicing.
- Inspect capital projects to ensure compliance with specifications and quality control standards.
- Review architecture plans, change orders, and coordinate refrigeration or electrical plans with technical staff.
- Complete estimates for minor capital projects.
- Participate in department meetings and huddles.
- Develop a final cumulative project to present to the executive team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong motivation to take initiative on assigned work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a group.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to various levels of the organization.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Prior experience in a construction environment.
- Commitment to providing quality customer service.
- Ability to analyze information and apply it to business needs.
