About the role#
IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week program during Summer 2027. This is a paid, full-time hybrid position based in New York, NY. You will work alongside experienced engineers and consultants on active commercial and institutional projects. The role focuses on supporting electrical systems design, coordination, and project delivery within a complex urban environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems.
- Research commercially available equipment for use in projects.
- Coordinate design and schedule activities with architectural, structural, and mechanical teams.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
- Review project documents for accuracy and help maintain design notebooks.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- A strong interest in design consulting.
- Previous exposure to CAD or BIM software.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written forms.
