About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Student Coop Engineering position based in Chester, South Carolina. The role is on-site and follows a rolling term structure. You will work within the engineering and maintenance department to support the research, development, and quality control of chopped fiberglass materials.
What you'll do#
- Research the properties, characteristics, and applications of chopped fiberglass.
- Analyze mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties of materials.
- Develop new fiberglass materials or improve existing formulations.
- Source high-quality materials by collaborating with suppliers.
- Partner with design and production teams to boost product performance.
- Optimize product formulations and manufacturing processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Set and implement quality control procedures to meet industry standards.
- Maintain engineering documentation and reports.
- Work with production engineers and project managers to communicate technical details to various stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Manufacturing experience and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
