About the role#
This is a 16-week co-op position for undergraduate students to gain practical experience working on IBM projects. You will join the Technical Support team to help clients resolve product issues and learn how IBM software functions within larger real-world solutions. This role requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, and you must not be enrolled in concurrent coursework during the term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with global support and engineering teams to resolve client product issues.
- Analyze diagnostics and recommend solutions to help customers optimize their product usage.
- Create and update knowledge base articles to share technical insights.
- Educate clients on best practices and product usage.
- Work alongside Engineering and Product teams to improve IBM solutions.
- Participate in proactive support activities, including upgrade planning and product adoption.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Intent to return to your degree program after the co-op concludes.
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) from January 19 to May 7, 2027.
- Availability to start a full-time role between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Familiarity with Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Exposure to programming languages such as Java or Python.
- Understanding of software development concepts and system integration.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
- Fluency in English and strong communication skills.
- A focus on customer satisfaction.
