About the role#
The Software Strategy and M&A team drives revenue growth and profitability for IBM Software. You will support global initiatives, including Go-to-Market planning and M&A activities. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to frame decisions for senior executives and helping to identify acquisition targets. You will contribute to strategic change initiatives to ensure targeted business outcomes are realized.
What you'll do#
- Develop strategies and initiatives for IBM Software.
- Perform client segmentation, sales structure design, incentive planning, and demand generation analysis.
- Identify acquisition targets and build strategic fit hypotheses.
- Conduct market research and interview internal subject matter experts to build insights.
- Present findings and collaborate directly with senior IBM executives.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA program at a top school with a graduation date of May 2027.
- An undergraduate degree in a technical or data-intensive field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or Business Administration.
- Experience in consulting, software, sales, data science, or banking and finance.
- Prior experience in software and information technology strategy.
- Advanced skills in Excel and data science tools.
- Strong analytical abilities and experience with structured thinking.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-threaded environment with shifting priorities.
- A drive for innovation and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
