About the role#
This is a 16-week Co-op position for undergraduate students. You will work in a collaborative environment to build, deploy, configure, and maintain systems for IBM clients. The role requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week during the Winter 2027 term. You must be able to pause your coursework for the duration of the program.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the health of production systems and services to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide initial assessments and workarounds for production issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
- Deploy services and configuration changes using CI/CD tools.
- Apply security patches and system upgrades.
- Work with Product support teams to resolve issues.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Intent to return to school to complete your degree after the co-op.
- Availability to start a full-time role between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Experience or knowledge of Python, Go, or Bash.
- Familiarity with cloud providers such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift environments.
- Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD tools.
- Understanding of monitoring, observability, incident support, and break-fix tasks.
