About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support patient care and pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Prepare prescription containers and affix labels.
- Provide friendly customer service and assist patients.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monthly counts.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Protect customer privacy and handle confidential medical information.
- Assist with training pharmacy staff and follow security procedures.
- Support other areas of the store as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
- Professional communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers.
