About the role#
The Communications Internship at Huntington National Bank provides students with hands-on experience in corporate communications. You will work alongside professionals to support internal communications, executive messaging, philanthropy, and community relations. This role is designed to help you build a foundation for your career through practical projects and exposure to key business functions.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit content, articles, and stories that highlight Huntington's impact in the community.
- Support executive and employee communications, as well as media relations activities.
- Develop content for philanthropic initiatives and help create communications and media strategies.
- Research industry trends and contribute to storytelling that showcases the bank's products, services, and expertise.
- Collaborate directly with your manager and team members to support department initiatives.
- Provide recommendations to improve department processes.
- Participate in all internship events and take initiative to achieve your personal career goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university, with at least one semester remaining after the summer program.
- A major in Communications, Journalism, or Human Resources.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership through work experience or extracurricular activities.
- A strong interest in a banking career.
- Ability to maintain professional composure and exercise sound judgment in a professional environment.
