About the role#
We are looking for a Civil Engineering student to join our Traffic Group in Raleigh, North Carolina for the Fall 2026 term. This is a part-time, on-site internship. You will gain exposure to traffic design, including signal, signing, pavement marking, and intelligent transportation systems. You will also learn about traffic analysis, forecasting, and construction support.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering teams with daily tasks and project duties.
- Assist engineers with research, development, and project design.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documents.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and organize information for project documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply direction from supervisors and peers.
- Understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Completion of at least two years of an engineering program is preferred.
- Knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD is preferred.
- A strong interest in traffic and transportation is preferred.
