About the role#
Hitachi Energy is seeking a community engagement intern for the summer of 2026. This role supports the local team in Varennes by contributing to community relations, internal communications, and employer branding initiatives. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site at the Varennes facility.
What you'll do#
- Capture content and create social media posts for internal and external audiences.
- Assist the community relations manager with daily tasks, administrative support, and sponsorship coordination.
- Coordinate logistics for employee and community events, including support during internal and external gatherings.
- Design infographics for internal communications.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the employer brand and foster a positive culture within the facility.
- Engage with local stakeholders, including the MRC and members of the manufacturing network.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for administration, communications, political science, or marketing (mandatory).
- Completion of at least two years of university studies is preferred.
- Proficiency in both French and English.
- Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite and popular social media platforms.
- A valid work permit and access to a personal vehicle (mandatory).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a structured, evolving team environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional atypical hours to accommodate event schedules.
