About the role#
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Buyer Intern to join the Service division for a 12-month internship. This role focuses on procurement and logistics within the Field Services and Spare Parts department.
What you'll do#
- Track purchase orders, including creation and order acknowledgement.
- Coordinate with suppliers to follow up on delivery confirmations and ensure compliance.
- Lead the team in managing open purchase orders to ensure they are closed in a timely manner and address backlogs.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
- Maintain supplier relations to ensure vendor accounts are in good standing.
- Facilitate timely payments by working with vendors and requisitioners.
- Help resolve supplier quality issues and support the supply chain management function in negotiating pricing.
What you'll need#
- Current education in procurement, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a team-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of SAP software is considered an asset.
