About the role#
The Contract Management Intern supports the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department. You will assist with contract administration, legal research, document management, and various operational projects. This position provides practical experience in commercial contract management and corporate legal processes.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, review, format, and organize contracts and legal documents.
- Support the contract lifecycle, including tracking, execution, amendments, and archiving.
- Maintain contract databases and document repositories for accuracy.
- Assist contract managers with daily activities and attend project meetings.
- Support compliance initiatives by organizing policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Conduct due diligence reviews and track legal or regulatory developments.
- Organize electronic and physical legal files.
- Prepare standard legal templates and forms.
- Coordinate document execution and signature processes.
- Participate in special projects to improve legal operations, including AI initiatives.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders in Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Bids teams.
- Respond to routine inquiries regarding contract status and processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Law, Business Administration, Public Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
- Completed coursework related to contracts or business studies.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with AI tools like CoPilot, ChatGPT, or Gemini.
- Experience with document management or contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and teamwork.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid).
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Employment: Full time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $23-$30 CAD hourly.
- Status: Paid internship.
