About the role#
The Pastry Intern supports daily food production at The Sweeterie Confectionery Kitchen and Milton’s Ice Cream Parlor. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare baking and pastry items according to established recipe and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace while adhering to personal hygiene and uniform standards.
- Manage daily mise en place by checking food quality and ensuring proper rotation of ingredients.
- Complete prep work with consistency and efficiency to control food waste.
- Collaborate with team members and follow leadership direction to complete assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Completion of high school or a GED.
- Enrollment in a pastry arts program or at least one year of experience in a full production bakery.
- Proficiency with detail-oriented tasks and basic baking techniques.
- Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Location & details#
- Location: Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August/September through December/January).
- Company-coordinated housing may be available for a weekly fee of $160, subject to availability.
