About the role#
The Culinary Internship at Hershey Country Club focuses on building your operational skills in a professional kitchen. You will work alongside the Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, and senior line staff to learn banquet preparation, a la carte service, and line operations. This is a part-time position for the summer of 2027. You must be committed to the full term of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace according to ServSafe and State Food Safety regulations.
- Handle tools, knives, and kitchen equipment safely.
- Follow verbal directions and written recipes with accuracy and speed.
- Develop proficiency across assigned kitchen stations.
- Keep your workstation stocked with the necessary supplies for daily menus and banquets.
- Practice safe food handling techniques at all times.
- Perform other job duties as required by the kitchen team.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in culinary school.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- A full knife kit.
- Knowledge of kitchen math, including weights and measures.
- Fundamental culinary knowledge and a genuine interest in the craft.
- Reliable transportation to the site.
- The ability to work in a high volume environment.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
- The internship runs from May 2027 through August 2027.
- This is an on-site position. Work schedules are determined by union seniority and will likely include evenings and weekends.
- Company housing is available for a weekly fee of $160, plus an initial $180 housing fee that includes a refundable deposit and an insurance waiver.
- Physical requirements include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in extreme temperatures.
