About the role#
As a Project Engineering Intern, you will support construction project management, field coordination, cost estimating, and project documentation. You will gain hands-on experience in construction project delivery across planning, preconstruction, and active construction phases while working under the guidance of experienced team members.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day project management and coordination activities.
- Maintain project management software, files, logs, and documentation.
- Attend project meetings and record meeting minutes.
- Track project materials, submittals, RFIs, change requests, and schedules.
- Support the preparation and distribution of bid packages.
- Review blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Maintain jobsite records, including daily reports and correspondence.
- Assist with updates to as-built drawings and project coordination documents.
- Participate in project safety activities and follow established procedures.
- Research contractors, vendors, and materials for preconstruction activities.
- Gain exposure to project budgeting, cost tracking, and change order processes.
- Coordinate with project teams, engineers, and contractors.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to documentation.
- Ability to identify and solve routine problems with guidance.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Previous construction, engineering, or internship experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction project management, estimating, or drafting software is preferred.
