About the role#
This paid, hands-on internship at KOCO provides an inside look at the daily operations of a professional newsroom. Interns work directly with the news team to research and gather information for stories while contributing to daily production tasks. You will be expected to participate in newsroom operations and may accompany crews into the field for shoots.
What you'll do#
- Assist with writing voiceovers, spots, and news packages.
- Support reporters, producers, and photographers during field shoots.
- Log interviews and assist with the coordination of newsroom content.
- Write stories for newscasts.
- Help with general daily newsroom operations as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A strong interest in journalism.
- Previous experience through college coursework or a local newsroom internship.
- Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
- Versatility to handle a wide range of topics and subjects.
- The ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
- Experience staying up to date on current events and working within a team.
