News Intern

About the role#

This paid, hands-on internship provides an opportunity to understand how a professional newsroom operates while contributing to daily production. Interns work directly with reporters, producers, and photographers to research stories, gather information, and manage content flow within the newsroom.

What you'll do#

• Assist with writing vo/spots and news packages.
• Support reporters, producers, and photographers during field shoots.
• Log interviews and help coordinate content within the newsroom.
• Write stories for newscasts.
• Participate in daily newsroom operations and assist with various assigned tasks.

What you'll need#

• A demonstrated interest in journalism and previous experience through college coursework or a local newsroom internship.
• Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
• The ability to react and adapt quickly to breaking news.
• Versatility to handle a wide range of topics and subjects.
• Ability to stay informed on current events and work effectively within a team.
