About the role#
KOCO, the Oklahoma City ABC affiliate of Hearst Television, offers a paid, hands-on internship. You will learn how a professional newsroom operates by contributing to daily tasks. Interns work directly with reporters, producers, and photographers in the newsroom and in the field.
What you'll do#
- Write stories for newscasts, including vo/spots and packages.
- Assist reporters, producers, and photographers on shoots.
- Log interviews and research information for stories.
- Coordinate content within the newsroom.
- Help with general daily newsroom operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Journalism or Communications.
- Previous experience through college journalism classes or a prior internship in a local newsroom.
- Strong editorial, writing, and technical skills.
- Ability to react and adapt to breaking news.
- Versatility to handle a wide range of topics.
- Awareness of current events and the ability to work well in a team.
