WMUR Engineering and Production Intern

About the role#

The WMUR Engineering and Production internship offers students hands-on training within a television station environment. This program is designed to provide exposure to daily technical operations, allowing participants to work directly with equipment under the supervision of permanent technical staff.

What you'll do#

Interns will rotate through several technical departments to gain a broad understanding of broadcast operations, including:

• Production: Assist with floor directing, wireless camera operation, prompter duties, editing, and directing.
• Air Operations: Participate in the operation of master control systems.
• Engineering: Support the installation, repair, and maintenance of broadcast systems.
• IT: Gain exposure to station information technology processes.

Following initial rotations, interns will return to specific areas of interest for more focused training. Schedules are determined based on mutual availability and academic requirements, with a maximum of 24 hours per week.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a college program related to Electrical Engineering, Media Studies, or Communications.
• An interest in television engineering and production processes.
• Strong organizational skills to manage internship responsibilities.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team.
• A foundational understanding of technical operations in a television environment.
