About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a corporate fitness center environment. Interns gain exposure to various health and wellness operations while completing their university internship requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide supervision and fitness guidance for facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations and summarize test data to prescribe exercise programs.
- Assist in compiling participation data and completing required reports.
- Develop and implement at least one special fitness program or event.
- Contribute to the marketing of wellness programs through newsletters, web content, and events.
- Shadow personal trainers and assist with day-to-day office operations.
- Teach group exercise formats through team teaching.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior level Bachelor's or Master's student in Kinesiology, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Strong communication skills to instruct and interact with a diverse group of individuals.
- Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred.
