About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in a fitness and wellness setting, designed to fulfill university internship requirements. You will gain exposure to corporate, community, or hospital-based facility operations while developing professional skills in a supportive environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide fitness and wellness guidance to facility members.
- Perform fitness evaluations, interpret data, and prescribe cardiovascular and strength exercise programs.
- Develop and implement at least one special program or event.
- Assist in marketing fitness and wellness services through various communication channels.
- Instruct group exercise classes and assist with special fitness programming.
- Support daily office operations and participate in scheduled meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Personal Training or Group Exercise certification is preferred.
