About the role#
Health Research, Inc. is hiring an Hourly Project Assistant II for the Office of Local Health Services. This internship is part of the Pathways to Public Health program, designed to connect students with public health professionals for professional development. The position runs for approximately 10 weeks, from September 14, 2026, to November 27, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Research, assess, and compile resources for a media package focused on the Prevention Agenda, which is the New York State Health Improvement Plan.
- Support local health departments and hospitals in engaging the public and partners in Prevention Agenda activities.
- Assist the Office of Local Health Services team with daily operations and project tasks.
- Gain hands-on experience in the development and dissemination of public health education materials.
- Learn about the New York State Department of Health organization, policies, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a degree in a related field, such as Public Health, Communications, Graphic Design, or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated digital literacy skills and familiarity with multimedia platforms.
- Proficiency with graphic design tools.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, or editing reports and other written documents.
- Ability to organize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time, grant-funded internship.
- The role is based on-site in Albany, New York.
- Travel up to 10 percent of the time may be required.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
