About the role#
Health Research, Inc. is hiring an Hourly Project Assistant II to join the Metropolitan Regional Office, Division of Epidemiology. This role is part of the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program, which connects students with professionals to support learning and development in the public health sector. This is a paid, full-time, grant-funded position expected to last through November 27, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Analyze communicable disease data.
- Build data visualizations and dashboards to improve disease surveillance.
- Examine incidence, trends, and risk factors for communicable diseases reported between 2018 and 2025.
- Support the Pathways to Public Health Internship Program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or completion of a degree or training program in Public Health, Biology, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Health Administration.
- Experience with communicable disease data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with data analysis and automation using Microsoft, R, SAS, or similar platforms.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Central Islip, New York.
- Travel is required up to 10% of the time.
- Applicants must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the work location and be located in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts.
- You must have valid, unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship is not available.
