Tax Internship - Winter 2027

About the role#

HCVT is seeking a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a paid, full-time internship designed to provide hands-on experience in tax preparation and research while working alongside firm professionals. Interns will receive mentorship from a dedicated buddy and performance manager to support both technical and soft skill development.

What you'll do#

• Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, including related work papers.
• Complete projects within established engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
• Utilize firm tax preparation software to enhance service quality and share knowledge with the team.
• Conduct tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
• Perform self-reviews of work to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in firm training, professional activities, and development sessions.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or taxation, with an expected graduation date between May 2027 and June 2028.
• Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
• Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another campus accounting organization.
• Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative.
• High attention to detail and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Location & details#

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
• Term: Winter 2027 (Mid-January through Mid-April).
• Commitment: 30 – 40+ hours per week.
• Modality: Hybrid.
