About the role#
As a Tax Intern at HCVT, you will gain hands-on experience by supporting our tax service line. You will work on federal and multi-state income tax returns for various entities, including individuals, partnerships, and corporations. This role focuses on developing your technical skills while you collaborate with firm professionals and participate in ongoing training.
What you'll do#
- Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns and related work papers.
- Complete projects within established timeline and budget guidelines.
- Learn and use firm tax preparation software.
- Perform tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
- Develop professional relationships within the firm.
- Work with a buddy and performance manager to refine your technical and soft skills.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in accounting or taxation, with an expected completion date between December 2027 and July 2028.
- Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
- Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or a similar campus accounting organization.
- Strong technical aptitude and effective communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative.
Location & details#
- Location: Westlake Village, California.
- Term: Summer 2027 (Mid-June through Mid-August).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Modality: Hybrid work model.
- Compensation: $38.00 per hour, plus a one-time program completion bonus.
- Note: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship.
