Tax Internship - Summer 2027

About the role#

HCVT is seeking a Tax Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, paid internship provides exposure to federal and multi-state income tax preparation while working within a hybrid environment. Interns will work closely with firm professionals to develop both technical and soft skills through project work and mentorship.

What you'll do#

• Prepare federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, along with related work papers.
• Complete projects within established engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
• Learn and utilize firm tax preparation software to enhance service quality.
• Perform tax technical research as assigned by supervisors.
• Participate in firm training and professional development activities.
• Build relationships with firm professionals and collaborate with a dedicated buddy and performance manager.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in accounting or taxation, with an expected graduation between December 2027 and July 2028.
• Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0.
• Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or a similar campus accounting organization.
• Strong technical aptitude and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail, strong judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative.
• Availability to work 40 hours per week from mid-June through mid-August.

• Compensation: $38.00 per hour, plus a one-time program completion bonus.
