About the role#
Hawaiian Electric offers a summer internship program designed to provide students with hands-on experience on professional projects. You will work with a dedicated mentor to develop your technical skills and explore future career opportunities within the utility industry. This is a paid, full-time position based in Honolulu for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Research and execute an objective-based project under the guidance of your mentor.
- Participate in cross-functional activities to learn about company operations.
- Attend professional development workshops and networking events.
- Present your project achievements and lessons learned to the management team at the end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary school with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- You must be attending school in Fall 2027 and have an expected graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, MIS, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Good academic standing.
- Security+ certification, as well as experience with Microsoft, networking, or IT Help Desk support, are considered a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Honolulu, Hawaii.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
- Pay: Starting at $23.00 per hour.
