About the role#
Haven Studios Inc is looking for a Technical Design Intern to join our development team. This role acts as a bridge between game design, level design, and programming. You will help anticipate the needs of the game mode teams and assist them with implementation. Working with the Technical Level Design Director, you will establish clear guidelines and rules for level design to maximize the potential of our in-game systems.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain in-game and debug tools for designers.
- Collaborate with the programming team to improve existing tools and create new ones.
- Create a consistent checklist for level design and communicate technical requirements to the level design team.
- Serve as a link between the design and engineering teams to ensure tool and engine development meets game design needs.
- Implement data validation strategies, such as reports and automated tests.
- Optimize systems and features.
- Clean and update outdated data and error logs.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university or cégep program focused on programming, video game development, or technical design.
- Experience in scripting or programming.
- Previous internship experience is an asset.
