About the role#
As an Operations Planning and Simulation Analyst Intern, you will join the Infrastructure group in White River Junction, Vermont. This role provides an opportunity to work with industry experts on transportation networks, rail systems, and large-scale projects. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting project managers and senior staff in a professional office environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn about rail vehicles, signaling, and operations from industry experts.
- Assist Project Managers, Directors, and Analysts to study transportation networks, benchmark rail system capacity, and plan operations.
- Create technical reports and deliver presentations for decision-makers on large-scale projects.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed project designs.
- Support the preparation of drawings based on specifications and notes.
- Coordinate with technicians and engineers on various projects.
- Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, computer science, data analytics, engineering, environmental science, physics, planning, policy, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- A strong interest in transportation systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous co-op or internship experience is considered an asset.
- A copy of your transcript is required with your application.
Location & details#
- Location: White River Junction, Vermont.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site, in-office position. While some flexibility exists, we prioritize in-person collaboration.
- Employment: This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
