About the role#
Hatch is looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Student to join the team in Vancouver. This is a full-time, paid internship role with a rolling term. You will work on-site and contribute to projects within the mining, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
What you'll do#
- Perform cable sizing, cable tray layout, and electrical equipment layout.
- Run electrical analyses, calculations, and computer simulations.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.
- Assist with the development of client proposals and presentations.
- Create bills of materials for project requirements.
- Conduct field visits to client sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Completion of at least the second year of your program.
- Coursework, research, or work experience related to hydrotechnical engineering, such as water diversion structures or penstock piping.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience with electrical system design software like ETAP or EasyPower is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
