About the role#
This 12 month internship provides a broad overview of book marketing and the publishing sector. You will report to the Associate Director and gain exposure to various teams across the organization. This is a full-time, paid position based in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Associate Director with operations such as title scheduling, pricing, and format reviews.
- Track and oversee the production of special and retailer-exclusive editions.
- Collaborate with marketing managers on campaigns, including brainstorming ad taglines and coordinating giveaways.
- Attend imprint meetings and creative sessions.
- Design and produce social media content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, including videos, graphics, and photography.
- Conduct influencer research and manage outreach.
- Coordinate the distribution of advance reading copies and swag packages to booksellers, librarians, and influencers.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a university or college degree, or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, or publishing.
- A genuine interest in the publishing industry.
- Eligibility to work and receive payment in Canada.
