About the role#
Halff is hiring a Transportation Intern for our Tyler, Texas office. This full-time internship runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. You will work on various roadway and highway design projects for TxDOT, as well as city and county clients.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Assist with CAD drafting work.
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication, relationship building, and team skills.
- Self-motivation and organizational ability.
Location & details#
- Location: Tyler, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
