About the role#
Halff is hiring a Structural Intern for the summer of 2027 in our Fort Worth office. This is a full-time, paid position focused on transportation design projects, including work for TxDOT, cities, and counties. You will work under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer to gain experience in civil engineering.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the guidance of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Perform CAD drafting work.
- Complete calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Self-motivated work ethic.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Worth, Texas.
- Term: June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
- Modality: On-site.
