About the role#
Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern to join our team in Lubbock, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p.
What you'll do#
- Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
- Perform drafting CAD work.
- Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with team members including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil Engineering or an ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
- Self-motivation and strong organization skills.
