About the role#
We are hiring a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern for our MEP team in McAllen, Texas. This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 7, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will work 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8a to 5p. Please note that we do not provide or pay for housing.
What you'll do#
- Design mechanical or electrical projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
- Perform drafting work in CAD.
- Run calculations and analysis for design projects.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory documents.
- Create electrical project documents, plans, and specifications.
- Assist with HVAC and plumbing design projects.
- Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
- Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Work with a Project Manager to plan and prepare contract documentation and meet deadlines.
- Assist with scheduling work, materials, tools, and equipment to ensure project performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an ABET accredited equivalent.
- Experience or familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong organization skills and self-motivation.
- Clear communication and team-building abilities.
