About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship program at Burns & Wilcox. You will join a specialty underwriting team to gain experience in commercial, personal, or professional lines of insurance. You will work 40 hours per week in an on-site office setting.
What you'll do#
- Participate in agent marketing calls and attend client meetings.
- Engage in the insurance policy renewal process.
- Update new business and renewal records using Microsoft Excel.
- Determine which insurance programs or markets best meet the needs of agency clients.
- Communicate loss notices and policy changes.
- Work alongside senior leaders on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited university.
- A degree path in Risk Management and Insurance, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- An expected graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
