About the role#
This is a 12-week paid internship program at Burns & Wilcox. You will work 40 hours per week on-site in an office setting. The role immerses you in a specialty underwriting team, where you will focus on commercial, personal, or professional lines of insurance. You will gain experience through hands-on work and networking with executive leadership.
What you'll do#
- Participate in agent marketing calls and attend client meetings.
- Engage in insurance policy renewals.
- Update new business and renewals using Microsoft Excel.
- Determine which program or market best meets the needs of agency clients.
- Communicate loss notices and policy changes.
- Work alongside senior leaders on special projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited university.
- Active pursuit of a degree in Risk Management and Insurance (strongly preferred), Business, Finance, or a relevant field.
- Expected graduation in December 2027 or May 2028.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
