About the role#
The Financial Institution Services (FIS) division is looking for a Claims Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This role provides project and administrative support to our Claims staff. You will gain practical experience in the insurance industry while supporting day-to-day operations. This is a paid, part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support to the Claims team to help operations run smoothly.
- Manage incoming document mailboxes and attach vendor reports to electronic claim files.
- Review, enter, and process vendor invoices for payment.
- Prepare and distribute correspondence to the necessary parties.
- Learn and use various claims systems, databases, and business applications.
- Maintain organized and accurate claim records.
- Communicate with team members and stakeholders regarding claim activities.
- Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuing a degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Availability to work at least 16 hours per week during business hours, including full availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative and outgoing approach to teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership through work experience, campus involvement, or extracurricular activities.
- Ability to work effectively in both virtual and in-office environments.
Location & details#
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. You will work from the downtown office at least 50% of the time, with the initial training period taking place primarily in the office.
