About the role#
This internship provides exposure to the insurance industry within the Trucking Division. You will work on meaningful assignments and gain experience in claims handling, coverage analysis, and investigation. You will also have the opportunity to meet with management and staff across various functions to gain a broader perspective of the business.
What you'll do#
- Participate in special projects within the claims and subrogation groups.
- Complete coverage analysis, first contact, investigation, resolution strategy, and letter writing on assigned claims after initial training.
- Work with the operations team to learn how claims are reported and assigned.
- Use various claims systems, programs, and databases to perform daily functions.
- Complete reading assignments, self-study courses, and case studies to build your insurance knowledge.
- Attend seminars and workshops, including Claims College and Great American University offerings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuit of a degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Proven leadership skills through work experience, campus involvement, or extracurricular activities.
- Strong communication, analysis, planning, and organizing skills.
- Self-motivation and attention to detail.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, database management, and information technology platforms.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Location: Cincinnati, Ohio.
- Work Modality: This position is on-site four days a week, with one day of remote flexibility. Core in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
- Employment: Part-time internship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
