About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience on a commercial construction project site. You will receive specialized one-on-one training, coaching, and mentoring to support your career development. You will actively track your progress against core competencies throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with project control, management, and site safety programs.
- Develop and maintain the critical path project schedule and assist with short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Apply Lean Construction techniques.
- Maintain project documentation and expedite approvals from owners, architects, and engineers.
- Review contract documents, including plans, specifications, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Support the procurement of equipment and materials while tracking deliveries.
- Track and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and vendors.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on technical and contractual matters.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for construction management, engineering, or a relevant technical discipline.
- Ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at the project site.
- Strong motivation, professional ambition, and an interest in private commercial construction.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and handle multiple tasks with urgency.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
