About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects within the Drug Metabolism department. You will gain hands-on experience in a research environment while working alongside teams focused on developing therapies for life-threatening diseases. The program includes professional development, leadership presentations, and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Develop a targeted LC-MS/MS workflow for sensitive quantitation of low-abundance serum proteins.
- Evaluate the applicability of these workflows for PK/PD and target engagement studies of biologic therapeutics.
- Improve assay sensitivity and robustness by evaluating protein digestion, peptide selection, and enrichment strategies.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret mass spectrometry data to provide recommendations to project teams.
- Deliver a final presentation of your work near the conclusion of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a full-time Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. university.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to a 10-12 week full-time internship between May and August.
- Hands-on experience with biological sample preparation, protein analysis, or quantitative bioanalytical methods such as LC-MS/MS, immunoassays, or proteomics.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be independently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Graduate or PhD level candidates in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bioengineering, or related fields.
