About the role#
The Research Associate Intern position supports the development of molecular diagnostic products in oncology and prenatal medicine. You will work alongside scientists with expertise in molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, and quantitative modeling. This role involves moving assays from research prototypes to products used in clinical labs. You will have the opportunity to use molecular techniques, next-generation sequencing, and robotic tools.
What you'll do#
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments and assays under the guidance of Senior Scientists.
- Learn analytical and computational methodologies to analyze results.
- Document all experimental details and results.
- Present scientific findings through verbal updates at group meetings and internal written reports.
What you'll need#
- Anticipated BS or MS in Bioengineering, Molecular and Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Independent research experience.
- High mathematical and statistical aptitude.
- Ability to quickly learn mathematical, analytical, and experimental concepts.
- Great attention to detail.
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques like PCR is preferred.
- Experience in a cell-free DNA setting is preferred.
- Experience with next-generation sequencing library preparation is preferred.
- Experience with computational analysis in R, Python, or other programming languages is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid position at $25 per hour.
- The role is based on-site in Menlo Park, California.
- This position is offered on a rolling basis.
