About the role#
As a PDM Technical Development intern, you will contribute to high-impact projects within our biotechnology research team. This position offers the chance to gain experience in a professional setting while helping advance our mission. You will participate in special events including professional development sessions, leadership presentations, and local community volunteer programs.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of computational models for pharmaceutical development.
- Curate, organize, and preprocess complex scientific datasets.
- Apply and assess modeling and simulation techniques to address scientific challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional scientists and engineers to translate research questions into solutions.
- Document methods and insights.
- Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Showcase your work with a final presentation near the conclusion of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program with continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Independently authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship.
- Ability to commit to a full-time internship lasting 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Willingness to work at the Foster City site for the duration of the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated research experience in scientific computing, computational modeling, simulation, or AI/ML.
- Strong scientific communication and research execution skills.
- PhD preferred. Field of study in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline preferred. At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals preferred.
