About the role#
As an intern within the Strategy, Innovation & Portfolio team, you will contribute to high-impact projects that support our research mission. You will gain experience in a professional environment while participating in leadership presentations, networking activities, and community programs. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Use AI to support the planning and coordination of high-visibility scientific and organizational events.
- Contribute to the development of scientific communications and storytelling materials using AI tools.
- Assist with the coordination of cross-functional strategic initiatives related to AI.
- Conduct an AI-augmented portfolio intelligence project, integrating scientific, operational, and strategic data across therapeutic research programs to support data-driven decision-making.
- Present your work in a final PowerPoint presentation near the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. university.
- Continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work on-site in Foster City, California, for the duration of the program.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States without the need for future sponsorship.
- Minimum age of 18 at the start of the internship.
- Preferred: A Ph.D. degree or progress toward a degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related AI-focused field.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with Python, machine learning, statistical modeling, or generative AI.
- Preferred: Strong programming and data analysis skills, including experience with R, SQL, or data visualization tools.
- Preferred: Demonstrated interest in drug discovery, translational science, or R&D portfolio management.
- Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and strong problem-solving abilities.

- Location: Foster City, California.
- Modality: Hybrid (on-site work required).
- Term: 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August 2027.
