About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to research in inflammation biology using AI and computational methods. You will gain experience working at a biopharmaceutical company while participating in professional development and networking events. The program concludes with a final presentation of your work.
What you'll do#
- Apply AI and computational approaches to analyze large biological datasets, including transcriptomics, single-cell omics, imaging, and public data.
- Use generative AI, machine learning, and bioinformatics tools to support target identification, validation, and mechanism-of-action research.
- Integrate and interpret multi-modal datasets to generate biological hypotheses and uncover novel disease mechanisms.
- Collaborate with biologists and computational scientists to evaluate therapeutic targets related to fibrosis, tissue remodeling, and inflammatory diseases.
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation summarizing your project results.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. college or university, with plans to return to full-time study in the Fall.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 to 12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Minimum age of 18 at the start of the internship.
- Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Computational Biology.
- Preferred technical skills include hands-on experience with Python, machine learning, statistical modeling, generative AI, or large language models.
- Ability to translate research questions into data-driven approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
