About the role#
This summer internship offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact research projects within our Data Sciences and AI team. You will gain practical experience by applying computational tools to complex biological data, helping to advance our mission of developing life-changing scientific innovations. Interns participate in professional development sessions, leadership presentations, networking events, and local community volunteer programs.
What you'll do#
- Develop and apply statistical and computational tools to analyze large-scale omics and functional genetic screen data.
- Design and apply machine learning and mathematical algorithms to discover new targets across cancer indications.
- Use bioinformatics analysis to interpret data from advanced NGS technologies.
- Identify links between gene mutations, alternative splicing, and translation to support target discovery.
- Present your findings at the conclusion of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program at a nationally accredited U.S. university, with continued enrollment in the following Fall semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to work full-time for 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Hands-on experience with Python, machine learning, statistical modeling, or generative AI tools.
- Ability to collaborate with scientists and translate research questions into data-driven approaches.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- A PhD is the preferred degree level, with a focus on Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related AI field.
