About the role#
As an intern within the Kite Research Cell Biology team, you will contribute to projects that advance our mission while gaining hands-on experience in biotechnology research. This full-time internship is a paid position that includes opportunities for professional development, leadership presentations, and networking. You will work on-site in a hybrid capacity to support our research goals.
What you'll do#
- Perform mammalian tissue culture using sterile techniques.
- Execute lentiviral transduction in mammalian cells.
- Prepare cells and perform staining for Spectral Flow Cytometry analysis.
- Manage the startup and quality control of flow cytometry instruments.
- Conduct data analysis using FlowJo.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all experimental work.
- Coordinate tasks across multiple projects while demonstrating effective planning.
- Communicate research plans and results clearly in both written and oral formats.
- Present your work during a final presentation at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA, JD, or PhD program, with continued full-time enrollment in the Fall semester following the internship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
- Ability to commit to 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and August.
- Independent authorization to work in the United States without company or school sponsorship.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Academic or industry experience of 1-3 years.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience or theoretical knowledge in flow cytometry and mammalian tissue culture techniques.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
