About the role#
Ghafari Associates is hiring an Architecture Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position based in our Grand Rapids office. You will work under the supervision of project managers and architects to assist with design and technical tasks of simple to moderate complexity.
What you'll do#
- Read existing construction documents and field check architectural conditions.
- Create as-built drawings and develop building backgrounds.
- Set up project files in AutoCAD and Revit according to office standards.
- Produce construction documents based on guidance from the lead Project Architect.
- Assist with design tasks of limited scope, such as stairs and toilet room layouts.
- Prepare technical documentation including schedules, reflected ceiling plans, and typical details.
- Collaborate with project team members across various engineering disciplines.
- Help with programming sessions, presentation materials, material boards, and project binders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Architecture, Fine Arts/Interiors, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Working proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and follow project direction.
