    About the role#

    As a summer intern at Ghafari Associates, you will work under the direction of project engineers and managers to develop engineering design documents and digital models. This full-time role focuses on applying your technical skills to real-world projects while learning how to coordinate design disciplines and solve production problems.

    What you'll do#

    • Create engineering documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Collaborate with engineers to understand project scope and design requirements.
    • Provide limited design input and detail documentation.
    • Make corrections and prepare final documents for review.
    • Check for integration between sections and coordinate across disciplines.
    • Resolve document coordination and production issues.
    • Produce 3D drawings and digital design models.
    • Deploy team-oriented problem solving.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Completion of at least two years of university coursework.
    • Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
    • Familiarity with electrical design and analysis software such as AGI32, Visual, ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
    • Ability to take direction and show initiative.

    • Location: Chicago, Illinois.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, plus paid holidays.
